Ossur Cold Rush Cold Therapy Pads

Össur Cold Rush Cold Therapy Pads deliver targeted cold therapy to a specific joint or limb when connected to the Cold Rush Cold Therapy System. Each pad is contoured to its treatment area for a secure, comfortable fit during post-surgical or trauma-related recovery.

Pads circulate the same chilled water mixture from the Cold Rush unit through a closed hose connection, providing steady, even cooling to the treated area. Do not use on bare skin.

Indications

• Provides cold therapy
• For conditions requiring cold therapy to a joint or limb, such as post-surgical care, trauma-related pain, and swelling

Contraindications

Do not use on patients with:

• Hematological dyscrasias predisposing to thrombosis (e.g., cryoglobulinemia, sickle cell disease)
• Compromised local circulation (arteriosclerosis, ischemia)
• Neurologic impairment, polyneuropathy, or nerve damage causing decreased skin sensitivity
• Cognitive or communication impairments preventing accurate, timely feedback
• Raynaud's disease or other vasospastic conditions
• Buerger's disease or significant vascular impairment
• Cold hypersensitivity (cold urticaria) or history of cold-related injury
• Severe cardiovascular disease, hypercoagulation disorders, poor circulation, or extremely low blood pressure
• Localized unstable skin conditions or infection in the treatment area
• Tissue inflammation from recent injury or chronic inflammatory flare-up

Care Instructions

• Inspect the pad for tears, leaks, or damage before each use
• Clean as recommended by your healthcare provider; do not submerge electrical components
• Always use a fresh insulation barrier between the pad and skin, and check regularly for moisture
• Discontinue use and contact your healthcare provider if the pad shows signs of wear
