Darco PegAssist Insole PTQ Series

The DARCO PTQ PegAssist Offloading Insole uses a removable-peg chassis to off-load the plantar surface of the foot after surgery or when wounds are present. By pulling out individual pegs beneath a wound or ulcer, pressure is redirected away from that area — reducing pressure by as much as 60%, according to the manufacturer, while keeping the patient ambulatory. Sold as a single insole.

The insole has a 15 mm combination Plastazote and Multi-Foam base with a 3 mm Poron cushioning cover, which helps eliminate ring edema and edge abrasion around the off-loaded area. An included stabilizer board maintains the insole's integrity in use. The PTQ Series (blue pegs) is designed specifically to fit DARCO's Square-Toe MedSurg shoe.

How It Works

The peg chassis is filled with removable pegs. To off-load a specific wound or pressure point, the pegs directly beneath it are pulled out, creating a recessed area so that region bears less load while the rest of the foot stays supported. This allows targeted, adjustable off-loading that can be modified as healing progresses.
